Since its establishment in 1998, Abu-Bakar Islamic Center has become a core gathering place for Portland's diverse Muslim community. With a foundation built on the teachings of the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, the center provides a supportive and inclusive environment for worship, learning, and social engagement. It was initially founded to serve the needs of a growing Somali population but has since evolved into a diverse and open community.
