Description
The Hindu Mandir in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, located at 50 Kesmark Street, is a spiritual and cultural center established in 1990 to serve the Indo-Canadian Hindu community of Montreal. It has grown into a large temple and community center that provides for the spiritual, ritual, ceremonial, and social needs of the community.
Key features
A monument to be proud of: Phase I of the temple's construction was completed in 1997–1998, with the modern architecture and beautiful finish being described as "a monument to be proud of" by its founders.
Large prayer hall: The temple features a main prayer hall that can accommodate around 800 people.
Community kitchen and cafeteria: The facility includes a large community kitchen and cafeteria.
Deity hall and offices: There is a hall dedicated to various deities, as well as administrative offices and priest quarters.
