Description
The Columbia Muslim Prayer Room, located in the lower level of the historic Earl Hall, serves as the spiritual heart for Muslim students, faculty, and staff at Columbia University. This dedicated space, managed in conjunction with the Columbia University Muslim Students Association (MSA), offers a quiet, accessible sanctuary for daily worship, reflection, and community bonding within a busy academic environment. True to Earl Hall's original mission that "religion and learning may go hand in hand," the prayer room provides an essential resource for integrating faith life with the university experience. The space fosters a strong sense of community while also educating the wider Columbia community about Islam and contemporary Muslim life.
