The Islamic Center of Northland (ICNKC) is a welcoming spiritual hub that serves the religious, social, and educational needs of the growing Muslim community in the North Kansas City area and its surrounding suburbs. Completed in 2017 with generous community support, the center provides a dedicated space for worship, learning, and connection. It is designed to be a focal point for spiritual growth, Dawah (outreach), and interfaith dialogue, embodying the values of peace and community.
Key Features
Dedicated Prayer Facilities: The mosque is equipped for the five daily prayers, Friday congregational prayers, and special prayers during Ramadan, including Traweeh.
Community and Educational Spaces:
- A large finished basement with an open hall that can seat up to 300 people.
- Two dedicated rooms for Sunday Islamic classes.
- A fully equipped kitchen for community functions.
Sisters' Wing: An active and organized group within the center that successfully plans and executes community events like annual picnics and iftars, while also organizing gatherings for Quran and Sunnah study.
Quran School: The center offers classes focusing on Quran memorization, providing children and adults with a deep connection to the divine message.
Community Events: ICNKC hosts regular gatherings, such as "Family Night" every other Friday, which includes worship, Quran recitation, and refreshments.
Charity and Zakat: The center actively promotes and facilitates charity, Zakat, and Sadaqah, following Islamic principles to help those in need.
Future Expansion Plans: The center owns over 5 acres of land designated for future expansion, with plans that include a full-time Islamic school, a larger community hall, and children's playgrounds.
