TropiCona Fruit Forest and Nurseries looking for a few Tree grafters that will typically work in nurseries. It may require to work indoors and outdoors, and the role can involve standing, bending, and lifting.
Key Responsibilities:
Grafting and Budding: Performing various techniques, such as whip, cleft, and bark, and budding to trees and shrubs, a scion from a desired variety onto rootstock.
Scion and Rootstock Selection: Identifying and selecting healthy and scion wood and rootstock for grafting, considering factors like disease resistance, adaptability, and desired traits.
Graft Preparation and Execution: Furthermore, preparing scion and for grafting by making precise cuts and ensuring proper alignment of the cambium layers to promote successful graft union.
Graft Care and Monitoring: Moreover, Wrapping and protecting grafted areas to seal in moisture and promote healing, and monitoring grafts for successful union and healthy growth.
Troubleshooting: Identifying and addressing graft failures, plant diseases, or other problems that might hinder successful grafting or plant health.
Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of grafting batches, techniques used, plant varieties, and outcomes.
Equipment Maintenance: Operating and maintaining grafting tools and equipment, ensuring they are sharp, sterile, and in good working condition.
