Patriots star Brady inks Aston Martin deal

New York (AFP) – New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady announced a multi-year endorsement deal with British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin on Friday, the Super Bowl hero pitching their pricey new DB11 model.

The 104-year-old handmade car company, whose classic vehicles became an iconic part of the James Bond movie series in the 1960s, prices the car Brady will sponsor starting at $211,995 (189,425 euros).

“I’m no James Bond but … Proud to announce my new partnership with Aston Martin!” Brady wrote on his Instagram page to confirm the deal, posting a photo of himself with the car.

Aston Martin said Brady will “curate” his own version of the company’s new Vanquish S — a 580 horsepower coupe with a base price of more than $300,000. Only 12 of those Brady cars will be made and sold to the public.

“As a long-time fan and driver, I am honored to join the Aston Martin team at this special moment in the company’s history,” Brady said.

Aston Martin makes about 4,000 cars a year with fewer than 1,000 of them sold in the United States.

Brady, who will appear in a new advertising series called “The Love of Beautiful” starting later this year, rallied the Patriots to a Super Bowl triumph over Atlanta last February for his fifth NFL crown.

Brady, who turns 40 in August, is among the NFL’s top pitchmen, already endorsing $100 Under Armour sleepwear, $5,300 Tag Heuer watches and $160 Ugg boots.
