Cheenu is a dedicated legal professional with a strong academic background and a passion for research. She completed her BA LLB (5-year integrated course) from the Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Punjab, India, excelling in Pleading, Drafting, Conveyancing, and Criminal Law, earning a scholarship for her achievements. Always inclined toward academics, she has published over five research papers on national and international platforms, covering critical legal topics such as sexual harassment of males in the workplace, gender equality in worship places, the impact of farm bills on Indian farmers, and the role of law enforcement in implementing intimate partner violence legislation in Canada.
During her Postgraduate Diploma in Law Enforcement Studies at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, Cheenu’s capstone research on intimate partner violence and spousal issues awakened her deep interest in family law, particularly the issues surrounding separation, child support, spousal support, divorce, and custody. This passion led her to aspire toward a career in Canadian family law, where she feels immense satisfaction in advocating for clients and helping them navigate the complex emotional and legal terrain of family disputes. Her commitment to making a positive impact on families facing challenges through her work in family law aligns with her core values of diligence, integrity, and contributing to society in a meaningful way.
